Max Jaw is like a surprise finger in your butt during a steamy sex session. You never thought you’d be into it. More importantly, Max just helped you learn something new about yourself.
Overtly, Max Jaw is an assassin who fancies himself a showman, presenting his “hits” as songs on a rock and roll album. Covertly, Max is an abandoned boy from Serbia with deep wounds, a ton of heart, questions about life, and a desperate need for approval. You never see his face. His mask does all of the work.
This fully complete graphic novel consists of sixteen performances (short stories, existential pieces, abstract poems, and confessions). It’s in a 6×9-inch format, 244 pages, full color. There’s a mix of pencil work (for more emotional pieces) and full-color ink (for more grounded pieces). Max’s mask stays the same, always tying everything together.
